About The Position

American Fleet Services is seeking a self-starting, take-charge individual for our growing automotive and truck Service Center Drive Team. This driven individual will be responsible for the transportation of customer and company vehicles to and from our Service Centers. Customer and company vehicles include automobiles, light and medium duty trucks and heavy-duty trucks, tractors, and trailers. This position is an extension of our industries highly regarded Fleet Management and Maintenance Service Center Teams. The ideal candidates will share the ALL-IN attitude that makes American Fleet Services the premier “business class” commercial vehicle service center in Northeast Ohio. Requirements

  • The ability to operate vehicles of sizes from Class #1 Automobile through Class #5 safely and respectfully. Non-CDL license required type: vehicles; as a minimum.
  • The ability to operate vehicles of size Class #6 up through Class #8+ vehicles safely and respectfully with a Class B air brake or Class A CDL license.
  • The ability to obtain a HAZMAT endorsement to the above as required.
  • Must understand GPS operations in efforts to transport customer and company vehicles as assigned.
  • Valid drives license with no more than two (2) minor driving violations within a three (3) year period, no more than a maximum of four (4) points and must be insurable with AFS’ current insurance provider.
  • Must submit to and successfully comply with AFS’ “Pre-Check” background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Self-starter who works well under minimal supervision after the initial training period.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate vehicles of sizes from Class #1 Automobile through Class #5. Non-CDL license required type: vehicles.
  • Operate Class #6 up through Class #8+ vehicles (CDL license a PLUS+).
  • Understand the basic fundamentals of customer service, vehicle drive characteristics, GPS tracking, accountability, etc.
  • Track and comply with vehicle pickup and delivery dispatch assignments.
  • Maintain their assigned work environment, tools, and supplies.
