Driller Assistant - Kansas City, KS
About The Position
Intertek-PSI is seeking a Driller Assistant to join its Professional Services Industries team in Kansas City, Kansas. The role supports the Driller with soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in-situ testing, and monitoring well installation. Intertek-PSI provides construction assurance, testing, and inspection services for civil and commercial construction, including construction materials testing, geotechnical and environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The position is on-site unless otherwise stated. Compensation is based on factors including the candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, and job-related duties.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 60%.
- Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
- Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds, and occasionally handle over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to meet the mental and physical requirements needed to perform the listed duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Driller with loading and unloading augers and assembling and disassembling augers.
- Prepare tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks.
- Assist with locating boring locations.
- Retrieve and log samples.
- Clean and maintain equipment and perform site cleanup.
- Support soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in-situ testing, and monitoring well installation.
