About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring a Drain Service Technician to diagnose and resolve sewer and drain problems for customers. The role includes evaluating service issues, preparing cost estimates, completing the work using company equipment and tools, documenting estimates and invoices in writing and on a provided smartphone, and collecting payment. The position is commissioned and non-exempt, with a stated salary range of $45,000–$75,000 per year. Roto-Rooter provides 12 weeks of paid sewer and drain service training, with additional training available for employees interested in learning the plumbing trade and pursuing a journeyman plumber’s license. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Effective communication skills.

• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose sewer and drain problems during service calls.
• Provide cost estimates and work to close the sale.
• Unclog and clean sewers and drains using Roto-Rooter equipment and tools.
• Document estimates and invoices in writing and on a provided smartphone.
• Collect payment and proceed to the next service call.
