About The Position

The Product Definition Drafter is responsible for providing technical and operational support in drafting, CAD modeling and design to the Transmission Engineering group. The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Cégep throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing technical studies in mechanical or aeronautical engineering fields.
  • General knowledge of turbine engine manufacturing and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, strong communication skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken/written).
  • Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Produce engineering drawings, 3D models and specifications using a computer-aided design (CAD) system, specifically CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent.
  • Provide technical support throughout the detail design phase.
  • Ensure that all drawings, 3D models and documents meet established requirements.
  • Apply a thorough knowledge of mechanical drawing, engineering mathematics, geometric tolerances, manufacturing methods, knowledge of physics and strength of materials.
