About The Position
Operate a Class 8 tractor-trailer as part of O’Reilly Auto Parts’ company fleet, providing safe, timely, and accurate overnight route deliveries to store locations. The position has dedicated routes, full-pallet, low-touch freight, and a modern fleet of tractors and trailers. Drivers are home daily and work a five-day week with no weekends. Potential first-year earnings are $84,547.36 based on average route hours; actual annual earnings may vary depending on route length. The salary package includes safety incentives, driver bonuses, and performance-based raises. The driver follows assigned routes, stops, and schedules; handles merchandise with electric pallet jacks and lift gates; completes required inspections and Hours of Service logs; and complies with DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations. Requirements
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, logbooks, and vehicle inspections.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) and valid DOT physical status.
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests.
- Current Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial Class 8 tractor-trailer to make safe, timely, and accurate route deliveries in compliance with DOT and company regulations.
- Use electric pallet jacks and lift gates to load, unload, and deliver merchandise to designated store locations.
- Follow assigned routes, stops, and schedules to complete deliveries within set timeframes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain Hours of Service logs, and comply with FMCSA regulations.
- Secure loads, vehicle doors, and alarms before and after each stop; verify deliveries and manage returned merchandise.
- Assist with other delivery routes as needed to support operational requirements.
