About The Position

A Doorman delivers guest luggage from the lobby or parking garage to bell station and/or from bell station to parking garage. To perform the Doorman (Garage) position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Requirements

• Effectively interact and communicate in English with people from diverse backgrounds
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Write simple correspondence
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and co-associates of the hotel
• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Compute rate, ratio and percent
• Draw and interpret bar graphs
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One (1) year of customer service experience
• Previous Bellman and/or Doorman experience

Responsibilities

• Transfer trunks, packages and other baggage to room or loading area
• Arrange for outgoing freight, express or mail shipments, compute charges, tag article and record information such as addressee, addressor carrier and charges on specified forms
• Supply guests with information on hotel services and amenities
• Supply guests with travel information such as transportation rates, routes and schedules
• Open hotel's main doors and escort incoming guest to front desk for check-in
• Take luggage to luggage storage area and tag for Bellman to pick up
• Perform related services as requested by guest or manager
• Other duties as assigned
