About The Position

As a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, SpartanNash is a food solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods through a global supply chain network. The Donut Fryer works independently to bake, fry, decorate, package, display, and stock bakery products, helping ensure the shift contributes to the store’s financial interests. The role also includes completing other assigned duties in a timely manner. Production work is determined by the schedule, with baking and frying accounting for 80% of the time. The associate works in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and possible exposure to outside weather conditions. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills.
Detail-oriented.
High school diploma preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Bake and fry products according to the production schedule; these duties account for 80% of the time.
Price, date, wrap, and/or bag bakery products.
Fill, rotate, and merchandise bakery shelves, cases, and displays.
Notify the Bakery Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Assist with receiving, unloading, and stocking merchandise.
Maintain familiarity with department products, including differences in price, taste, preparation, and use.
Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
Complete other assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
