Mid-Level Donor Relations Officer
About The Position
The Donor Relations Officer, Mid-Level Giving builds meaningful relationships with Fresno Mission donors and helps deepen their connection to the Mission and its work. The position manages a portfolio of approximately 400 to 600 mid-level donors, focusing on personal outreach, donor retention, stewardship, engagement, and increased giving. The officer learns about each donor’s interests, motivations, and connection to Fresno Mission. Through calls, emails, personal visits, tours, events, and thoughtful follow-up, the officer helps donors understand the impact of their generosity and identify meaningful ways to continue their partnership with the Mission. All Fresno Mission employees are part of its outreach ministry, a non-denominational evangelical ministry sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through transformational programs for people experiencing poverty and addiction. Employees are Christian missionaries and may be required to participate in chapel services, outreach ministries, Bible studies, and prayer times. The position requires maintaining a Christian testimony and agreement with Fresno Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Requirements
- A mature walk with Jesus Christ and ability to articulate Biblical beliefs and their application within the context of Fresno Mission.
- Agreement with the Statement of Faith of Fresno Mission and ability to maintain a Christian testimony of faith and experience in Jesus.
- Willingness to participate from time to time in chapel services, outreach ministries, Bible studies, and prayer times.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to professionally represent Fresno Mission with donors and community partners.
- Ability to manage a large donor portfolio while maintaining consistent communication, documentation, and follow-up.
- Ability to work toward measurable fundraising, retention, engagement, and relationship-development goals.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, sales, account management, business development, nonprofit development, ministry, or another relationship-focused field.
- Understanding of relationship development, donor stewardship, customer service, or account management principles.
- Experience with a donor database or CRM.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of approximately 400 to 600 mid-level donors, with responsibility for consistent engagement, retention, stewardship, and revenue growth.
- Build relationships with donors through phone calls, emails, personal meetings, tours, events, and other meaningful interactions.
- Develop and carry out relationship strategies based on donors’ giving history, interests, engagement, and connection to Fresno Mission.
- Identify opportunities to retain, re-engage, and increase donor giving, and recognize donors who may be ready for deeper engagement or major gift conversations.
- Maintain accurate donor records and work toward established fundraising, retention, engagement, and activity goals as part of the Development team.
- Represent Fresno Mission’s work, impact, needs, and partnership opportunities to donors and community partners.
