About The Position

The Donor Relations and Events Coordinator will support the daily operations, events, programs and activities within the Advancement and Engagement Office. Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations & Events and working closely with the Director of Annual Programs & Engagement, this position manages a wide range of complex administrative operations including data management, processing invoices, maintaining budgets, email communications, interacting with internal and external constituents, event planning, and coordinating special projects. The coordinator will work as an integral member of the Advancement and Engagement team to implement events, programming, and outreach to enhance connections with donors, alumni, and parents. This position will also support the planning and coordination of the Annual Scholarship Gala, donor/stewardship/alumni events, institutional events such as Commencement and Convocation, and other special events as needed. This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience in development, marketing, and event planning is preferred.
  • Exceptional writing skills and a proven ability to write in a consistent voice and edit for another person’s voice, ensuring text is clear, consistent, and grammatically correct.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a well-organized fashion with a strong ability to prioritize.
  • Absolute attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and critical thinking skills and the ability to be resourceful, multi-task, work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, campus partners, volunteers, and external constituencies.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities and multi-task accordingly.
  • Professional and personable demeanor under pressure and with high-powered individuals is essential.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Raisers Edge, Mailchimp, ThankView, and web content management systems is a plus or otherwise ability to learn new system.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director of Donor Relations and Events, execute a comprehensive donor engagement and stewardship plan.
  • Assist with the writing and editing of a wide range of compelling content across digital and print channels for alumni, parents, and donors to strengthen storytelling that reflects philanthropic interests, ensuring text is clear, consistent, grammatically correct, and reflective of NEC’s brand and voice.
  • Support the planning and execution of donor, alumni, and parent engagement strategies, including cultivation, engagement, and stewardship events and workshops, the Annual Scholarship Gala, and institutional events.
  • Provide administrative support to Donor Relations and Engagement teams including calendar management, budget tracking, processing invoices and expenses.
  • Support the segmentation strategy for all stewardship activities by donor level, giving history, and engagement and assists with key data management, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage stewardship and engagement calendars and ensure timely delivery of personalized outreach aligned with fundraising campaigns and major milestones.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for all constituents, closely monitoring email accounts and responding to phone inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Supports donor and alumni communication and prepares constituent data for appeals and mailings.
  • Maintain event registration forms and communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
