Donor Recruitment Representative
About The Position
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Donor Recruitment Representative in Gainesville, Florida. This position combines community outreach, account management, and blood drive coordination to help maintain a reliable blood supply for local hospitals and patients. The representative builds relationships with businesses, schools, and community organizations while encouraging individuals to become regular blood donors. The role manages assigned blood drive accounts, develops community partnerships, recruits donors, and coordinates blood drives to support collection goals. It also involves working with Marketing and recruitment staff on promotional materials and donor recognition items, addressing concerns from community partners, and adapting recruitment efforts to meet daily collection needs. This is a full-time position with a starting salary range of $19.50 to $21.45 per hour. A criminal background check and drug screen are required upon a conditional offer of hire. The position description may not include every duty and responsibility; additional duties may fall within the scope of the employee’s skills, knowledge, and training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements.
- Consistent, reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Availability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing, positive attitude and strong customer service, relationship-building, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Confidence speaking by phone and presenting to groups.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, manage multiple accounts, and follow through on commitments.
- Goal-driven approach and ability to adapt recruitment efforts to meet collection needs.
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and ability to learn LifeSouth’s donor management software.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of sales or marketing experience.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); additional compensation available.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with blood drive chairpersons, local businesses, schools, organizations, and blood drive coordinators to schedule and rebook successful blood drives.
- Manage assigned blood drive accounts, follow up on leads, and develop new community partnerships to support collection goals.
- Recruit donors through one-on-one conversations, community outreach, events, and presentations explaining the importance of blood donation.
- Plan and coordinate blood drives, establish accurate collection projections, and work toward monthly, quarterly, and annual collection goals.
- Coordinate promotional materials and donor recognition items with Marketing and recruitment staff, ensuring accurate blood drive details and timely distribution.
- Address blood drive concerns, communicate with community partners, and adjust recruitment efforts to support daily collection needs.
