About The Position

This is a pro-bono volunteer position. JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8. Funds are raised through corporate donation, employee donations, individual donors and grants. The donations management team is in charge of maintaining knowledge about Corporate Platforms (Benevity, Easymatch, etc.), updating JerseySTEM information in these platforms, and uncovering new funding opportunities. All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions. JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda. Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

Requirements

Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
Attention to detail
Resourceful, can-do attitude
Comfortable with learning web based platforms
Social Impact experience, Human Resources, Corporate sponsored employee programs a plus
Experience leading a function (i.e. team, department manager, etc) and managing others or desire to do so
Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)

Nice To Haves

Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week

Responsibilities

Upon Notification of a donation: Download the donation information from the relevant platform, Log the donation in Salesforce, Notify the relevant JerseySTEM department, Ensure the donor receives a thank you letter.
Weekly: Log in to the Corporate Donation Platforms and ensure credentials are valid, information is up-to-date. Review Salesforce donation reports in Salesforce and ensure it matches the reality.
Special projects: Seek to take advantage of specific opportunities offered by specific platforms (e.g., Benevity has Volunteer posting opportunities, EasyMatch has Grants for Charities).
