About The Position

Donation attendants serve as Goodwill ambassadors, assisting donors with household goods in an active, dynamic role. The position involves providing customer service, welcoming donors, safely unloading and recording donations, sorting donated items, and keeping the donation area clean and safe. Attendants may also help load or unload company vehicles and perform general housekeeping and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic English instructions for safety purposes and communication with management.
• Ability to communicate verbally with associates and customers effectively.
• Ability to walk, stoop, stand, bend, lift, kneel, and climb continuously for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of previous work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Previous warehouse experience.
• Previous pallet packing and forklift experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Multilingual ability with proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external guests.
• Greet donors and safely unload donations from vehicles.
• Accurately record donations.
• Lift up to 50 pounds independently and frequently, as required.
• Safely operate manual or powered equipment, depending on location.
• Keep the donation area clean and free of debris.
• Complete donor receipts and offer donors a copy.
• Sort donated items into designated categories.
• Follow safety and security practices and report hazards or injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
• Maintain a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
• Assist truck and driver helpers with loading and unloading donations into company vehicles.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as needed and other duties as directed.
