About The Position

Donation attendants serve as Goodwill Ambassadors, assisting donors with household goods in an active, dynamic position. The role involves working outdoors, representing the organization, and providing customer service to donors and other guests. Attendants greet donors, safely unload and record donations, sort items into designated categories, issue donor receipts, and maintain a clean donation area. They follow safety and security practices and may assist with loading and unloading company vehicles and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic English instructions for safety and communication with management.
• Ability to communicate verbally with associates and customers effectively.
• Ability to walk, stoop, stand, bend, lift, kneel, and climb continuously for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of previous work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Previous warehouse experience.
• Previous pallet-packing and forklift experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Multilingual ability with English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external guests.
• Greet donors and safely unload donations from vehicles, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Accurately record donations.
• Safely operate manual or powered equipment, depending on location.
• Keep the donation area clean and free of debris.
• Complete donor receipts and offer donors a copy.
• Sort donated items into designated categories.
• Follow prescribed safety and security practices and report hazards and injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
• Maintain a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
• Assist truck and driver helpers with loading and unloading donations into company vehicles.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed.
