About The Position

The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible pet lovers to provide in-home dog or cat sitting visits and dog walking while clients are away in the Stamford/Norwalk, Connecticut metro area. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position. Jobs are voluntary; sitters set their availability and service area, and the company matches them with clients. The work involves caring for pets in clients’ homes and building trust with repeat clients. Services may include walks lasting 30–90 minutes, drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours, overnight stays of 10–12 hours, and 24-hour live-in care. Most visits occur while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Requirements

Experience caring for dogs or cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
Ability to confidently handle dogs of all sizes.
Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Strong written communication skills.
Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.

Nice To Haves

Experience administering medication, including oral medication, injections, or fluids.
Availability on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Feed pets and refresh their water.
Clean up pet waste.
Provide playtime, affection, and companionship according to each pet’s personality.
Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
Bring in mail or packages when requested.
Adjust lights, blinds, or trash and recycling when requested.
Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
Provide dog walks, drop-in visits, extended daytime visits, overnight stays, or 24-hour live-in care, as arranged.
