Dog Sitter
About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible pet lovers to provide in-home dog or cat sitting visits and dog walking in the Greenville, South Carolina metro area. This flexible, part-time independent contractor role allows sitters to choose their availability and service area, with the company matching them with clients. Sitters care for pets while their owners are away and help build trust with repeat clients. Services include walks lasting 30–90 minutes, drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours, overnight stays of 10–12 hours, and 24-hour live-in care. Most visits take place while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable. Sitters are paid per visit, with rates typically starting around $25 per 30-minute visit and higher pay for longer visits, overnight care, and house sitting. The position also offers weekly direct deposit, bonus opportunities, and 100% of tips.
Requirements
- Experience caring for dogs or cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
- Ability to confidently handle dogs from small to large.
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
- A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.
- Medication experience, including oral medications, injections, or fluids.

Responsibilities
- Feed pets and refresh their water.
- Clean up pet waste.
- Provide playtime, affection, and companionship based on each pet’s personality.
- Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
- Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
- Bring in mail or packages when requested.
- Adjust lights or blinds and handle trash or recycling when requested.
- Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
- Provide dog walking, drop-in visits, extended daytime care, overnight stays, or 24-hour live-in care.
