About The Position
Chow Hound Pet Supplies is hiring a Dog Groomer to provide grooming and care for customers’ dogs. The role focuses on each dog’s well-being and safety, understanding clients’ requested services, identifying individual needs, and adapting grooming methods to suit each dog. Groomers perform bathing, ear and teeth cleaning, nail trimming, anal gland expressing, and hair trimming. The position earns commissions and tips. Full-time employees are eligible for full benefits and paid time off.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of pet grooming experience, or willingness to train the right candidate.
- Animal care education from a reputable academy or grooming program.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
- Experience working with retail POS systems and inventory systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a focus on safety.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the well-being and safety of every dog in your care.
- Communicate with clients to understand the services they want.
- Greet each dog and identify and address any special needs.
- Perform bathing, ear and teeth cleaning, nail trimming, anal gland expressing, and hair trimming.
- Adjust grooming methods to suit each dog.
