About The Position
A. Duie Pyle is hiring a full-time Inbound Dockworker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role safely transports freight on and off trailers, verifies related documentation through electronic and manual systems, and supports the movement and tracking of shipments throughout the terminal. The position requires communicating with terminal personnel and drivers and maintaining a customer-service-first approach. The advertised schedule starts at 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday, as an example; the role may also require a flexible schedule that includes day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Pay starts at $22.80 per hour and increases to $27.65 after 12 months of employment. Overtime is paid after 40 hours. A. Requirements
- Ability to safely operate equipment and follow company and government safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and communicate effectively.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or other material-handling equipment.
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight on trailers using appropriate equipment, such as a forklift or electric pallet jack.
- Pick, stage, and secure freight inside trailers to ensure safe transport.
- Use the document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal.
- Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, which may include day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Operate with a customer-service-first mentality.
- Safely transport freight on and off trailers and verify related documentation using electronic and manual systems.
