About The Position
A. Duie Pyle is hiring a full-time Inbound Dockworker in Johnston, Rhode Island. The role is responsible for safely moving freight on and off trailers and verifying related documentation using electronic and manual systems. Dockworkers use appropriate material-handling equipment, track freight through a document management system, and communicate with terminal personnel and drivers. The position offers an hourly rate of $24.30 plus a $0.70 shift differential, increasing after 12 months to $29.00 plus the shift differential. The schedule starts at 12:00 AM, Tuesday through Saturday, with overtime after 40 hours. The position may also require a flexible schedule that includes day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
- Ability to safely operate equipment and follow company and government safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and communicate effectively.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or other material-handling equipment.
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight on trailers using appropriate equipment, including a forklift or electric pallet jack.
- Pick, stage, and secure freight inside trailers to ensure safe transport.
- Use the document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal.
- Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, which may include day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Operate with a customer-service-first mentality.
- Safely transport freight on and off trailers and verify related documentation using electronic and manual systems.
