About The Position

Hiring Dockworkers to load and unload trailers in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role involves handling, sorting, counting, securing, and storing freight safely and efficiently, along with maintaining the dock area and supporting drivers and supervisors. Requirements

• Properly load and unload trailers.
• Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage.
• Sort and label skids and place them in proper locations.
• Perform inventory counts using bills of lading, trailer manifests, or packing slips.
• Perform routine daily forklift inspections.
• Perform basic arithmetic calculations, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Follow safe, efficient freight-handling and lifting procedures.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers properly.
• Handle goods and equipment carefully to avoid damage or breakage.
• Sort and label skids and place them in proper locations.
• Perform inventory counts using bills of lading, trailer manifests, or packing slips when loading and unloading goods, shipments, and returns.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading goods or equipment.
• Perform daily routine inspections of the forklift.
• Maintain good housekeeping around the dock area.
• Stack goods neatly and safely.
• Submit needed reports and information in a timely manner.
• Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Assist the supervisor in providing on-the-job training to new staff, participants, clients, and volunteers.
• Load and secure shipments according to proper procedures.
• Follow safe and efficient freight-handling and lifting procedures.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
