About The Position

Roadtex Transportation, a nationwide LTL provider specializing in time- and temperature-sensitive products, is part of Echo Global Logistics. The Dockworker performs warehouse and forklift duties, including moving freight and maintaining safe, organized work areas. The role requires familiarity with forklift controls and capabilities, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical strength and stamina may be needed to lift and move materials and goods.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of forklift experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
• Ability to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to perform physical activities involving considerable use of the arms, legs, and whole body, including bending, crouching, climbing steps and ladders, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
• Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 65 pounds, using team lifting and/or provided equipment when needed.
• Regularly speak or hear and frequently stand.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Load and unload materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using a forklift.
• Maintain inventory records and report discrepancies to management.
• Operate the forklift safely and responsibly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Report forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
