About The Position

Roadtex Transportation, acquired by Echo Global Logistics in 2022, specializes in transporting time- and temperature-sensitive products through a nationwide network of temperature-controlled facilities, specialized equipment, and warehousing capabilities. The Dockworker role performs forklift and warehouse duties. The employee must be familiar with forklift controls and capabilities, attentive to detail, able to work independently or with a team, and able to communicate effectively. The work may require physical strength and stamina to lift and move materials and goods.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of forklift experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
• Ability to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
• Familiarity with forklift controls and capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 65 pounds may be required, using team lifting and/or provided equipment as appropriate.
• Ability to perform physical activities involving considerable use of the arms, legs, and whole body, including bending, crouching, climbing steps and ladders, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Load and unload materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.
• Maintain inventory records and report discrepancies to management.
• Operate the forklift safely and responsibly at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
