About The Position

The Dock Material Handler performs a variety of duties involving the sorting and transportation of donated goods. Work may include loading and off-loading items from trucks and trailers, initially sorting textiles and hard-sort items, and transporting materials to appropriate departments or locations. Depending on the position, the handler may also operate a baler and compactor according to established procedures. The role is based at Goodwill Central Coast’s SLO Headquarters in San Luis Obispo, California, and is full-time with a day shift.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and trailers by placing materials for delivery to stores.
• Off-load donations from trucks and trailers and place materials in designated areas.
• Perform initial donation processing before distributing items to the appropriate processing departments.
• Transport materials to appropriate departments and locations.
• Depending on the position, operate a baler and compactor by following established procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
