About The Position

As part of the Freedom Boat Club team, the Dock Hand works by the water with the club’s boat fleet and provides customer-focused service to members. The role involves greeting members, supporting dock operations, helping manage boat check-in and check-out, and maintaining vessels and the club location. The position is part-time and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The work is performed outdoors in varied weather and in a marina setting, including on fixed or floating docks and near or on the water. Employees must safely move on, off, and within vessels under different tide and weather conditions. The anticipated pay is $15 per hour. The position is eligible for Brunswick benefits including a 401(k) with up to a 4% match, a wellbeing program, and product purchase discounts.

Requirements

Pass a background check and drug screen.
Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to regularly meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, kneeling, balancing, and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds.
Be able to read and use handheld tablets.
Be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to adhere to all safety policies.

Responsibilities

Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette.
Manage member check-in and check-out using a handheld tablet.
Perform equipment checks to ensure necessary equipment is functional and on board.
Clean and maintain vessels and the club location according to company standards.
Complete daily clerical work to prepare the reservation system, fuel logs, and weather reports.
Become familiar with local waters to provide basic guidance to members.
Communicate clearly and professionally.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Follow company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Work outdoors in the elements and stand for extended periods.
