About The Position
Eastern Lift Truck Co. is accepting applications for an entry-level Dock and Door Technician Apprentice to support its York, Pennsylvania location. The apprentice will learn the mechanics of overhead doors and dock leveling systems through a formal training program that includes classroom modules and hands-on instruction, with guidance from mentors. Training also covers safety standards and customer interaction, preparing the apprentice for a career as a Dock and Door Technician.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Clean driving record.
- Customer-focused.
- Dependable, stable work history.
- Comfortable working at heights.
Nice To Haves
- Welding or fabricating experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead technician with installation and/or repair of overhead door and dock leveling systems.
- Help resolve issues to the customer's satisfaction within company policy.
- Learn troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems related to overhead doors and dock leveling systems.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts, and wear PPE and fall protection.
- Use technology such as tablets and cellphones to document work performed and communicate with customers and internal office personnel.
