About The Position

The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking a dedicated Operations Consultant to join their team. This role involves significant communication, training, and evaluation of employees, as well as planning and directing their work. The consultant will supervise staff at headquarters and in various circuits, conduct on-site visits, provide technical assistance and support, and offer guidance on contractual matters. Responsibilities include reviewing and monitoring provider deficiencies, assisting in their resolution, and addressing program-related incidents. The position also involves conducting conference calls, troubleshooting with providers to ensure compliance from management, financial, technical, and contractual perspectives, and educating community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research, and policies. The role requires participation in community engagements and initiatives, coordination of community events, and development of effective partnerships with local organizations. The consultant will monitor staff in their assigned regions regarding community engagement and partnership efforts. Additionally, the position involves drafting monthly reports, evaluating data from outcome measures, and making recommendations for program improvement. The incumbent will perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Ability to comprehend written documents.
  • Ability to listen and ask questions.
  • Ability to supervise others.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.
  • Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of administrative experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities
