About The Position
Lead the daily operations of a school bus facility to ensure safe, on-time service, strong customer relationships, employee engagement, and cost control. Serves as the on-site safety leader.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (college degree preferred)
- CDL required
- 3+ years of transportation industry experience
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work early morning hours
- Professional, safety-focused, and customer-oriented mindset
Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations, including hiring, performance, and discipline
- Ensure safe, reliable, and on-time student transportation
- Maintain adequate driver coverage and manage absenteeism
- Serve as primary contact for school district clients; attend School Board meetings as needed
- Drive performance using KPIs and ensure contract compliance
- Own location P&L; manage labor, fuel, maintenance, and overtime costs
- Oversee billing, invoicing, and budget/forecast activities
- Ensure DOT, federal, state, and company safety compliance
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, and spare utilization
- Oversee safety and bus technology (cameras, GPS, child check systems, radios)
- Support HR matters and submit required reports to Corporate
