About The Position

Einstein Bros. Bagels is seeking a District Shift Leader to participate in a targeted General Manager development plan. The role is designed to prepare the employee to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when an opening becomes available. The District Shift Leader works at a home location and supports other bakeries in the market as needed, filling in for General Managers and leading to the General Manager standard when one is absent. A future General Manager promotion is expected when available, but the specific location is not guaranteed.

Shifts may begin as early as 3 a.m. for baking and store-opening duties. The District Shift Leader leads by example, represents the brand, coaches and trains team members, and works in different roles to help ensure quality food and beverages and a safe, clean store. The development plan includes administrative training in inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as preparation in P&L analysis, food and labor cost targets, scheduling, and recruiting.

The position requires at least 30 hours per week and varied hours and days, including early hours and weekends. The posting states that employees will not work past 3 p.m. The role is based at the listed Atlanta, Georgia address and requires travel to other bakeries in the market as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work varied hours and days as business dictates, including early hours and weekends, with shifts starting as early as 3 a.m.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license.
• Must complete the Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the General Manager development plan unless already holding a valid certification.
• Must fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market.
• Expected to accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available; the specific location is not guaranteed.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform management duties at the home bakery and support other bakeries in the market as needed.
• Fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market.

• Provide ongoing coaching and training for bakery teams.
