The District Shift Leader participates in a targeted General Manager development plan, with the goal of becoming eligible to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position becomes available. The role performs management duties at a home location and supports other bakeries in the market as needed. District Shift Leaders lead to the General Manager standard when the General Manager is absent and are expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations and accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when one is available; the specific location is not guaranteed. Shifts may begin as early as 3 a.m. for the first bake and store opening duties. The role leads by example, represents the brand, coaches and trains team members, and moves among different bakery roles to help provide high-quality food and beverages and maintain a safe, clean store. The development plan includes administrative training in inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as preparation in P&L analysis, food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting. The position requires at least 30 hours per week. The job description states that employees will not work past 3 p.m.
