About The Position

Nucor Buildings Group, a leader in the design and manufacture of custom-engineered metal building systems, is seeking a motivated District Sales Manager (DSM) for the Missouri and Southern Illinois territory. See a territory map HERE. As a District Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and expanding our market share by developing profitable, life-long relationships with builders and customers, shaping the construction landscape in your assigned territory.   Basic Job Functions: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the assigned territory.
  • 3-5  years of territory sales experience with the ability to manage customer relationships.
  • 3–5 years of construction‑industry experience (pre-engineered metal buildings /engineered building products or related fields)
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience working directly with Builders or channel partners in the construction industry.
  • Prior experience in the metal building industry or graduate of the NBG DDSM program.
  • Familiarity with PEMB (pre-engineered metal buildings) is a strong plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of Builders, Accounts and National Account opportunities.
  • Implement effective Builder recruitment and execute cancellations of non-performing Builders.
  • Responsible for Marketing Nucor Building Systems products in the assigned district.
  • Establish annual sales plans for the assigned territory to achieve goals set with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Establish plans with each Builder to improve market presence inclusive of NBS penetration, quality of in-place products, and public image.
  • Promote attendance of Builders to all training opportunities, NBS functions, and utilization of NBS marketing programs.
  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager to develop personalized training for self-improvement.
  • Create Best Mark opportunities to improve product quality, service functions and enhance builder relations.
  • The candidate must be able to drive and travel extensively when required
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
