About The Position

The District Sales Manager serves as a liaison to customers, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen products to medical professionals. The role leads a district sales team to deliver on patient-focused commitments and achieve sales and budget targets. The district covers Boise, Vancouver, Salem, Eugene, and Santa Rosa. The position works cross-functionally with other Amgen business units, including District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, and Corporate Account Managers.

Requirements

Meet one of the following education and sales/marketing experience combinations: doctorate degree and 2 years; master’s degree and 6 years; bachelor’s degree and 8 years; associate’s degree and 10 years; or high school diploma/GED and 12 years.
At least 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, or programs, or directing resource allocation.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of specialty sales experience.
Experience in biologics.
Buy-and-bill model experience.
Ability to consistently and objectively recognize and promote successful behaviors and diagnose and change unsatisfactory behaviors through effective coaching.

Responsibilities

Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, allocating, monitoring, and leveraging internal and external resources, including discretionary spend.
Manage district teams to maximize performance and help achieve or exceed sales and budget targets.
Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
Ensure compliance with training.
Coach and counsel individuals to support their future development.
Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments.
Communicate and coordinate with district and cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Finance, and other business units.
Share best practices with direct reports and peers.
Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams.
Conduct district sales meetings to guide the district.
Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve aligned objectives.
