About The Position

Amgen is hiring a District Sales Manager for its Bone Health sales district covering Kansas City, Columbia, Independence, Springfield, and Lee's Summit. The role serves as a liaison to customers, providing medical professionals with clinical knowledge of Amgen products. The District Sales Manager collaborates cross-functionally with other Amgen business units, including other District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, and Corporate Account Managers, and leads the district team to meet sales and budget objectives.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or a master's degree and 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or a bachelor's degree and 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or an associate's degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or a high school diploma/GED and 12 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• At least 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
• Provide district teams with feedback on marketing and on allocating, monitoring, and leveraging internal and external resources, including discretionary spending.
• Manage district teams to maximize performance and achieve or exceed sales and budget targets.
• Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
• Ensure compliance with training.
• Coach and counsel team members to support their future development.
• Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Communicate and coordinate with district and cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Finance, and other business units.
• Share best practices with direct reports and peers.
• Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams.
• Conduct district sales meetings to guide the district.
• Develop relationships with local Opinion Leaders to achieve aligned objectives.
