About The Position

The Department for Children & Families' Family Services Division Barre District is seeking professional level Interim Family Services Workers to join our team of dedicated staff in supporting children, families and communities. Our goal is to promote safety, permanency, wellbeing and law abidance for children in need. Your role may involve conducting assessments related to child abuse and neglect or delinquency and/or providing ongoing services to at-risk families, children in state care, or youth on juvenile probation. We work in partnership with parents, relatives, educators, law enforcement, community-based service providers, courts, foster parents, and others. The work we do is meaningful, challenging and critical to the safety and well-being of Vermont's children and families. This is an interim position with an end date of May 2028.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work.
  • Bachelor’s degree AND eighteen (18) months of human services casework, including at least six months with a child or youth services caseload where duties included direct responsibility for client intake, assessment, plan development, monitoring, service procurement, and case closure in a formal human services delivery system.
  • Associate's degree in a human services related field AND two (2) years or more of experience in human services work.
  • Four (4) years or more of experience in human services work.

Responsibilities
