About The Position

This is an on-going position requiring 8 hours per day. The role involves developing and facilitating parent education groups, planning and implementing home visits, and cooperating with coworkers and local service delivery programs to ensure a team approach for delivering social, educational, and health services to enrolled families. The position also requires participation in classroom activities, maintaining documentation, assisting with recruitment and enrollment, identifying community resources for families, and collaborating on activities for families with young children. Participation in weekly planning meetings, staff meetings, and trainings is also expected, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Social Work, Education, Family Support, Psychology or Counseling.
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and English usage.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and the general public.
  • Experience working with families with low socio-economic status.
  • Computer/data entry skills.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s license.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate parent education groups.
  • Plan, implement and document developmentally appropriate family focused home visits with participating families.
  • Cooperate with coworkers and local service delivery programs to ensure a team approach for assigned delivery of social, educational and health services to the enrolled families.
  • Participate in the classroom process as directed and desired by individual preschool teachers.
  • Maintain required documentation and prepare monthly and final reports for the supervisor.
  • Assist with recruitment enrollment and data collection as assigned.
  • Assist parents in identifying available community resources for social, educational and health needs.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to develop and implement activities for families with young children.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings to coordinate services.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.
