About The Position

Étoile Academy Charter School, an independent K–8 charter school in Houston, is seeking a driven, high-capacity, and results-oriented individual to serve as our Intervention and Testing Coordinator. Étoile Academy is founded on the belief that all students can learn and achieve at high levels when held to the highest expectations, regardless of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, zip code, or home language. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Track record of achieving strong student growth in Reading Language Arts and/or Mathematics.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Strong ability to logistically plan and problem solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
  • Ability to get results and achieve success even if hours outside of normal work day are required
  • Valid Texas Teaching Licensure required

Responsibilities

  • Run professional development and provide coaching to ensure intervention programs (binder systems, blended learning, schoolwide intervention, after school intervention, and Saturday Academy) are implemented with fidelity.
  • Work with the leadership team to design, roll out, and continuously improve schoolwide intervention systems.
  • Utilize NWEA MAP, benchmark, and campus data to create and maintain intervention binders and targeted student groupings.
  • Leverage intervention platforms (iReady, Boost/Amplify, Summit K-12, and other assigned programs) to monitor student progress and ensure strong implementation.
  • Support, lead, and coordinate the implementation of blended learning across all campuses in collaboration with the Director of Academics to drive student success and growth.
  • Manage, coach, and observe campus interventionists and tutors to ensure they are effectively supporting students and driving measurable growth.
  • Coordinate and manage partnerships with external tutoring providers to ensure alignment with student needs and program goals.
  • Support teachers in analyzing data and planning targeted, standards-aligned interventions.
  • Provide coaching to maximize instructional time during intervention, tutoring, and small group instruction.
  • Plan and execute intervention programming, including after school tutoring and Saturday Academy, in collaboration with campus leadership.
  • Model best practices through demonstration lessons, co-teaching, and leading intervention groups to build teacher capacity.
  • Model strong Tier 1 instruction and strategies for closing gaps during classroom instruction.
  • Lead and coordinate RTI/MTSS systems at the district level to ensure all students receive appropriate Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support.
  • Support parent and staff referrals, documentation, and evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with timelines, documentation, and RTI/MTSS requirements.
  • Facilitate and support SST/RTI meetings to ensure data-driven decision making.
  • Monitor student progress across tiers and ensure interventions are adjusted based on data.
  • Train and provide consistent support to campus RTI Coordinators to facilitate RTI implementation at the campus and grade level.
  • Oversee campus level RTI coordinators to ensure effective implementation of interventions at the campus level.
  • Ensure all students have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning through ongoing assessment, on appropriate assessments, with appropriate supports
  • Serve as the district testing coordinator by planning and managing all assessment logistics, including scheduling, group assignments, accommodations, and make-up testing.
  • Register all students for required assessments (NWEA MAP, STAAR 3–8, STAAR Alternate, Interim Assessments, TELPAS).
  • Maintain and verify accurate testing rosters for all required assessments; for example, synching and verifying rosters in TIDE before TELPAS and STAAR, with complete and accurate reporting of student demographic data.
  • Collaborate with Special Education and Multilingual teams to ensure students receive appropriate testing accommodations.
  • Train and support campus testing coordinators to ensure accurate, secure, and compliant test administration.
  • Prepare, organize, distribute, and collect all testing materials.
  • Monitor and maintain test security and ensure compliance with all testing procedures.
  • Attend assessment training and remain current on all state and federal testing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing, training, and compliance documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with staff and families regarding testing schedules and expectations.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure technology readiness for testing.
  • Plan testing logistics in advance and proactively address potential challenges.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all assessments.
  • Ensure all relevant personnel have access to assessment results, and train them how to navigate data platforms.
  • Embody a strong belief in data-driven instruction and urgency, ensuring teachers act on student data to close gaps immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support campus and district priorities.
