About The Position

The OH UG Distribution Supervisor supervises the workforce responsible for installing and maintaining underground and overhead transmission and distribution facilities in accordance with manufacturer and company standards and PSEGLI safety standards. The position reports to the Sr Distribution Supervisor and supervises OH/UG Lines bargaining-unit employees in a 24/7 operational environment. The supervisor may perform rotating standby duty and may be required to work off-hours, including nights and weekends. During storm or outage restoration, the employee may perform duties outside normal operations, work extended hours, and work at company premises or another designated location.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 3 years of experience in the operation, design, maintenance, and construction of electric transmission and distribution facilities.
Knowledge of work rules, work methods, safety rules, and line procedures associated with overhead and underground work.
Supervisory experience and/or familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements sufficient to direct crew operations.
Ability to evaluate assigned personnel and tools and equipment.
Ability to work off-hours, including nights and/or weekends, approximately 400 hours per year.
Valid U.S. driver's license and a safe and satisfactory driving history.
Compliance with Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR 810.

Subject to the company's drug and alcohol testing program, including pre-employment, for-cause, and post-incident/accident testing; federally regulated roles are also subject to random testing, including for marijuana.

Applicants without transmission and distribution experience may be considered if they have at least 4 years of field supervisory experience leading a union workforce.

Responsibilities

Supervise OH/UG Lines bargaining-unit employees and direct crew operations in accordance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Prepare reports for the Sr Distribution Supervisor, including work schedules, pending work, unusual field or operating conditions, and equipment performance.
Perform rotating standby duty in accordance with OH/UG Lines Department requirements.
Conduct safety inspections, effective operations inspections, and accident investigations for the area of responsibility.
Evaluate tools and equipment used to perform job functions.
Evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Drive to company locations and off-site assignments and events.
During storm or outage restoration efforts, perform duties that may differ from normal operations, work extended hours, and work at company premises or an alternate location as directed.
