About The Position

Premier Brands Group Holdings Inc. is currently seeking a Distribution Operations Director. This role is responsible for controlling product flow through inventory by managing staff, receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing product. The Director will be responsible for the success of assigned functions within a complex Distribution Center environment to ensure it is an outstanding place to work. This position will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of finished goods through the warehouse, develop the leadership team, and provide daily oversight for all operational requirements for warehouse operational staff via training and career development. The role oversees warehousing activities to ensure processes and procedures are understood and followed, including warehouse compliance for inventory management, labor management, cycle counting, product handling, and other services. The Director will troubleshoot and provide solutions for issues of a moderate to complex scope, meet or exceed established goals relative to on-time delivery and shipping accuracy, and control costs associated with facility operations. This role manages a staffing level of approximately 300+ employees with an emphasis on overtime and work efficiency, including workforce movement. The Director also controls costs associated with purchases, maintenance, and travel, and creates a friendly, clean, and safe environment for all employees. Collaboration is key, working closely with Senior Directors of Distribution, other managers, and engineers. The role assists in the review and development of supervisors, ensuring all orders are processed effectively and in a timely manner. Knowledge of labor laws such as unemployment, OSHA, FMLA, EEOC, and ADA is required. The Director will act in accordance with pre-established guidelines and processes, escalating issues to the Director of Distribution/senior leadership as needed. This position is also responsible for devising and developing effective communication between and among management and associates to promote associate morale and provide an environment conducive to achieving reduced costs and increased productivity. The role supports, communicates, and recommends employee relations practices necessary to help establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. The Director interfaces cross-functionally at all levels within the company's divisions, engaging in daily communication and information exchange regarding warehouse operations procedures and processes to ensure customer requirements are met. People leadership, including management, motivation, and development of staff, as well as teamwork, is a critical aspect of this role. The Director is expected to manage morale to minimize employee turnover and provide a workplace that encourages associate growth and development. Strong teamwork and communication with co-workers are essential to achieve common goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (6) to four (8) years experience in management.
  • Previous experience in distribution or warehouse environment highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology (MS Office, WMS, SAP & AS/400) to gather, interpret, analyze and present date.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of labor laws such as unemployment, OSHA, FMLA, EEOC and ADA.
