The Distribution Center Team Lead coordinates the daily activities of team members servicing assigned customers. In a player-coach role, the lead monitors and assists Distribution Center associates with warehousing, transportation, safety, and inventory functions. The role is accountable for coordinating work safely and productively, processing orders and returns, maintaining the work area, and coaching team members. The lead engages Operations Management regarding discipline when team members do not respond to coaching.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a distribution facility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective team-building abilities.
• Proven ability to motivate and manage colleagues to deliver on projects.
• Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
• Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
• Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team’s trailer loading and unloading while maintaining safety, productivity, accuracy, and teamwork.
• Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process customer returns.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and perform general maintenance tasks.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and a positive professional approach to work.
• Provide others with current, direct, complete, and actionable positive and corrective feedback.
• Engage Operations Management to address discipline when team members are not responsive to coaching.
