About The Position

Under general supervision, the Distribution Center Lead supports DC leadership by ensuring that end-to-end warehouse processes—including inbound, order management, and outbound shipments—are prioritized. The Lead communicates performance goals and standards so team members understand expectations, conveys employee performance opportunities and deficiencies to the manager, and shares ideas. The role also interacts with carriers, handles incoming freight, and supports order management and shipping. The Lead primarily works in one or more of these areas: inbound, order control, receiving, inventory, shipping, and training. The role manages daily inbound and outbound workflow for Lens Care orders, monitors departmental output, supports ongoing operational improvement, and ensures resources are used effectively. It maintains records and shift-to-shift information, enforces standard operating procedures, reports errors and process deviations, and helps ensure equipment, cleanliness, and workplace safety meet ZEISS standards. This is a full-time position. The role may be eligible for a performance bonus. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Forklift and warehouse management system experience required.
One to two years of relevant experience required.
Ability to motivate others through effective leadership.

Energy and enthusiasm for production and problem solving.
Strong initiative and follow-up skills.
Time management skills and ability to multitask.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand and walk for prolonged periods; climb, reach, and crouch; operate a forklift and pallet jack; and perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.
Manual dexterity, basic math skills, and good vision.
Two to four years of experience in cycle counting, customer service, shipping, data-entry functions, POD/tracer, receiving, order administration/control, picking, restocking, and quality control/checking.
Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing programs.
Ability to work effectively under deadlines and varied job pressure.

Nice To Haves

Three years of relevant experience preferred.
Forklift, HighJump, and SAP experience preferred.
Experience with SAP software.

Responsibilities

Manage daily workflow of inbound and outbound activities for Lens Care orders.
Use knowledge of HighJump, SAP, and other related systems to support distribution center operations.
Complete end-of-day reports and VTS sales reporting.
Support LEAN activities and ongoing operational improvement in the VTS area.
Maximize the use of operational resources, including personnel.
Analyze Lens Care department output using Microsoft Excel and other tools.
Manage the timing of inbound deliveries and shipments of VTS products.
Maintain appropriate records related to standard operating procedures.
Report stocking errors, mispicks, and misshipments.
Provide a comprehensive transfer of information between shifts.
Enforce standard operating procedures and document process or personnel deviations as needed.
Support orders for same-day shipment.
Ensure equipment is maintained according to ZEISS standards and document and report deviations.
Maintain clean and safe working environments in compliance with 6S.
Follow safety standards and report safety concerns to leadership.
Communicate performance goals and standards to team members and convey employee performance opportunities, deficiencies, and ideas to the manager.
Interact with carriers, handle incoming freight, and support order management and shipping areas.
Work in one or more of the inbound, order control, receiving, inventory, shipping, and training areas.
