Dispensing Pharmacist - Long Term Care - Full Time
About The Position
Omnicare provides pharmacy services to long-term care facilities and other customers in healthcare settings. This role supports Omnicare as an independent organization following its sale by CVS Health; the person hired will be employed by Omnicare. The Dispensing Pharmacist works in a fast-paced long-term care pharmacy, supporting pharmacy management’s goals and objectives. The role provides routine and emergency drug screening, information, order processing, and dispensing services for drug distribution systems serving care centers. The pharmacist helps ensure that appropriate drug products reach customers efficiently and safely and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with 35 anticipated weekly hours. Evening, weekend, and holiday coverage is provided during scheduled rotations based on business needs. The listed typical pay range is $60.58–$101.54 per hour; the actual offer depends on factors including experience, education, and geography.
Requirements
- Pharmacist license for the state of New York in good standing.
- PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate entry of orders.
- Maintain pharmacy security.
- Adhere to required delivery schedules.
- Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy.
- Check new and refill labels and orders for completeness and precision.
- Check drug packaging and labeling for content and accuracy.
- Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required.
- Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
- Apply knowledge of DEA and state laws regarding controlled drug dispensing.
- Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotations based on business needs.
- Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary by location.
- Provide excellent customer service and prioritize workflow.
