About The Position

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dispatcher to join their team. This unique role supports both ambulance and Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) dispatch operations. The Dispatcher will work closely with an experienced team to coordinate patient transportation and support critical healthcare services within the community. This per diem opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and possess strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Dispatchers play a vital role in ensuring seamless service delivery and exceptional patient care, whether supporting daytime or overnight operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
1–2 years in emergency dispatching, EMS, or a related field strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS, and communication tools.
Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader team.

Responsibilities

Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from hospitals, patients, and healthcare providers.
Coordinate ambulance and MIH services by dispatching appropriate personnel and resources.
Accurately relay critical information, including patient details, locations, and call nature.
Collaborate with and follow up with MIH team members to ensure continuity of care and proper communication.
Input, track, and update mobile healthcare call data in real time.
Monitor response times and follow up on exceptions.
Maintain accurate dispatch logs and prepare reports for review.
Serve as a liaison between facilities, providers, and the healthcare team.
