About The Position

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is seeking a Dispatcher in Curtis Bay, Maryland. The role is directly responsible for scheduling drivers to deliver freight and collect shipments and packages, and serves as a liaison among customers, drivers, and management. The schedule is 1:00 PM–9:30 PM. Sunday is closed, and Saturday and Monday are mandatory workdays. The dispatcher coordinates driver schedules and routes, communicates shipment details and timing, responds to routing or traffic issues, prepares dispatch documents, maintains dispatch and delivery records, monitors truck maintenance schedules, and handles inquiries and concerns. Other duties may be assigned as requested.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Schedule drivers to deliver freight or collect shipments and packages.
Communicate with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup and drop-off times, and special requests.
Plan predetermined routes for drivers.
Identify traffic problems and issues and create corrective action plans to achieve timely results.
Prepare general dispatch documents for management and retrieve documents needed by employees, customers, or vendors.
Maintain records of dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, and delivery and pickup times.
Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
Log vendor complaints or concerns.
Answer calls from vendors, customers, and management and assist them as needed.
Perform other duties as requested.
