About The Position

Associated Truss & Lumber Co. is seeking a Dispatch & Shipping Assistant to join their team. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where the assistant will be a key player in ensuring smooth and efficient delivery operations. The position is described as a launchpad for a career, working closely with the Dispatch and Shipping Manager, handling driver communication, critical paperwork, and managing operations in the manager's absence.

Requirements

1+ years of entry-level management or supervisory experience.
2-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a logistics, shipping, or manufacturing environment.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks.
Reliable, punctual, and have an excellent attendance record.
Positive team player who is motivated and goal-oriented.
Safety-conscious and can act with confidence in any situation.

Nice To Haves

Experience handling dispatch paperwork and coordinating with drivers is a plus.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and dispatch drivers, manage delivery schedules, and resolve routing issues in real time.
Act as the main point of contact for drivers throughout their shifts.
Provide customer service, handle delivery inquiries, and arrange returns or pickups.
Work with vendors to order essential supplies like diesel fuel.
Manage paperwork, including scanning purchase orders to the Accounting Department.
Maintain accurate inventory data.
Help enforce safety standards and report any hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
