About The Position

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for supervising all drivers and ensuring the efficient and timely operation of dispatch processes. This role involves overseeing the dispatching of Brenntag drivers to support various business needs, including LTL, Bulk, and Transfers, while also managing the fleet's care and services.

Requirements

  • 3 Years of Experience in distribution with a working knowledge of dispatching a fleet of drivers (required)
  • 3 Years of supervisory/management experience (required)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and bias for action

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 5 years Chemical industry experience (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory/routing system

Responsibilities

  • Supervising all Drivers
  • Ensuring the fleet’s care/services
  • Dispatching of Brenntag drivers, supporting of all areas of our business including LTL, Bulk, and Transfers
  • Handling all orders assigned to ship on company trucks
  • Managing the driver’s day to day operations out of various facilities and our bulk terminals
  • Coordinating shipping appointments and pickups
  • Coordinating with outside warehouses
  • Processing driver paperwork
  • Managing receipts & reimbursements
  • Reviewing and filing DOT logs
  • Working with customer service for daily communication of needs, issues, concerns related to customer orders
  • Working with materials management to coordinate inbound shipments and daily communication of needs, issues, concerns related to product management
  • Processing payroll (In-depth knowledge of Dayforce)
  • Assisting with dispatch office operations
  • Working the dispatch window to direct drivers
  • Working the truck scale
  • Serving as the point of contact for the emergency line after 5 pm
  • Processing paperwork as per procedures
  • Driving utilization of POD and OAV, assisting with implementation of Project 44
  • Managing fleet documentation including PMs and annual inspections
  • Reducing common carrier spend by improving asset utilization and efficient order management and routing
  • Performing other duties as assigned
