About The Position
The Dismantler Helper performs day-to-day activities in the Processing Department in accordance with applicable federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as directed by the Production Manager. The role helps ensure automobiles are dismantled safely, efficiently, and properly. The position assists experienced dismantlers, learns vehicle and engine dismantling, and helps tag and store parts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Starting pay is $20–$22 per hour.
Requirements
- Background in body repair, mechanical work, or previous dismantling experience.
- May be required to have a personal set of tools as needed to carry out duties.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate basic messages orally, write brief messages, and keep simple records.
- Ability to follow clear directions, standard procedures, and guidance from a supervisor or manager.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Dismantler/Trainer with dismantling vehicles.
- Learn and complete the system for dismantling, tagging, and storing all parts.
- Work with Engine Dismantlers as needed to learn engine dismantling.
- Comply with safety standards and requirements to maintain a safe, hazard-free workplace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
