About The Position

The Automobile Dismantler is responsible for removing high-quality automotive parts and usable core parts safely, efficiently, and properly. The role involves dismantling vehicles within suggested time constraints, checking parts for quality and product type, and labeling and tagging parts for stock. The employee must maintain the tools necessary to perform the work and may be assigned other duties. This position does not supervise employees. The work may involve hazardous situations, cramped spaces and awkward positions under vehicles, frequent exposure to fuel or exhaust, extreme temperatures or lighting, and high noise levels. Personal protective equipment may be worn. Periodic travel, including overnight stays, may be required depending on the position.

Requirements

Hands-on automotive repair experience.
May be required to have a personal set of tools to carry out duties.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to communicate basic messages orally, write brief messages, and keep simple records.
Ability to follow clear directions, standard procedures, and supervisor or manager guidance and priorities.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
