About The Position

The Dishwasher operates the dishwashing machine and maintains nutrition services storage areas in an orderly condition. The position assists with kitchen and dish-room maintenance and equipment care according to dining services department procedures. Duties include delivering clean water pitchers and food requests to nursing stations, transporting carts to and from dining areas, monitoring and recording water temperatures and cleaning-compound usage, and cleaning and storing food-service carts, dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans. The Dishwasher maintains sanitation and cleanliness throughout work areas, equipment, appliances, and dining rooms, including sweeping and mopping floors and clearing dirty dishes. The role may also assist with resident transportation during fire, disaster, or emergency evacuation according to procedure.

Requirements

• Previous relevant experience is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with residents, family members, and staff is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clean water pitchers to nursing stations.
• Maintain stock areas in a neat and orderly fashion daily.
• Transport carts to and from the appropriate dining areas.
• Operate the dishwashing machine.
• Monitor and record water temperatures and cleaning compound usage.
• Perform cleaning assignments as directed.
• Clean food-service carts, dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans, and store them appropriately.
• Use proper sanitation in all food and service areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in work areas, equipment, and appliances.
• Deliver food requests to stations as needed.
• Keep kitchen work areas and dining rooms clear of dirty dishes.
• Sweep and mop floors and work areas.
• Assist with resident transportation during fire, disaster, or emergency evacuation according to procedure.
