About The Position

The Dishwasher works in the Deli and reports to the Food Service Manager. The role maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition by performing dishwashing, cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, and supply-transfer tasks. Other duties may be assigned. The position is classified as non-exempt. No prior experience or training is required.

Requirements

• No prior experience or training is required.
• Regularly stand and/or sit for eight hours at a time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Have close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Separate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.
• Steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area at all times.
