About The Position

The Dishwasher at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront is responsible for maintaining clean dishwashing and storage areas and following proper procedures for handling dishes, glasses, cups, and silverware. The role includes cleaning walk-in, dry storage, and back dock areas; handling trash; and cleaning dishwashing equipment and surrounding surfaces. The position requires a positive attitude and work ethic, flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required, and the ability to perform specified physical tasks. Estimated pay is $13.15–$14.00 per hour; the actual offer depends on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and location within Virginia.

Requirements

Have a commensurate or transferable skill set.
Maintain a good attitude and work ethic to support operating efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
Be able to lift a 20-pound tray of dishes.
Be able to lift and dump a commercial-sized mop bucket.
Be able to operate a commercial vacuum.

Responsibilities

Sweep and mop the walk-in, dry storage, and back dock areas, keeping them neat and clean.
Empty trash and take it to the dumpster; report when the dumpster is full and clean the dumpster area when needed.
Clean the strainer under the dish machine.
Wipe down dish areas and polish metal surfaces, including the glass rack area, sinks, and machine areas, with stainless steel polish.
Ensure glasses and cups are placed in the correct racks.
Follow the proper procedure for handling silverware.
