About The Position

Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring full-time and part-time Dishwashers at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. The position maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen and work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. The fixed pay rate is $22.90 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary; additional details are provided during the interview. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• One year of dishwashing experience is required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, then wash them by hand or load them into racks or a dishwashing machine, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polish silver using assigned equipment and procedures, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
• Follow outlined safety procedures.
• Maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
• Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Help load and unload supplies and products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
