Dishwasher (Full And Part Time)
About The Position
Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring full- and part-time Dishwashers at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. The role maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen areas, work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. Workdays and hours vary, and morning, evening, and weekend availability is required. The position involves washing dishes and cookware by hand or machine, polishing silverware as assigned, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and following safety procedures and standards. Dishwashers also clean kitchen floors and food-preparation surfaces, remove and clean trash containers, transfer supplies and equipment, and help load and unload supplies and products. Previous dishwashing experience is preferred. The advertised pay range is $17.13 to $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, then wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to a dishwashing machine, depending on assigned equipment.
- Maintain complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes and kitchen items.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures.
- Polish silver using assigned equipment and procedures, such as a burnishing machine, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth.
- Follow outlined safety procedures and maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
- Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Help load and unload supplies and product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
